About us
Switchback Driving School is an independent driving school founded by Karon, a female, fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) who originally trained and built her foundations with a nationwide driving school. After establishing a reputation for her patient, calm approach and accumulating a strong, recommendation-based client base, she branched out to run her own independent business.
The school specialises in client-centred, 1-to-1 instruction tailored to all ages, abilities, anxious learners, and individuals with additional needs. Rather than just teaching students how to pass the practical driving test, Karon focuses on developing lifelong, safe driving skills.

Pass Rates
Switchback Driving School Prides itself on having a high first time pass rate.
The goal is to take your practical test when you are completely test ready. Taking your test when you are not ready can result in a loss of self confidence if not successful, or even fluke passing the test due to not having any challenging situations on your test. This could potentially result in you having, or causing an accident while driving on your own. All learners differ in the amount of lessons needed to get to test standard. Each learner will be advised on when to book the practical test and whether to swap it to a later date, or an earlier test date if good progress is being made.
The Vehicle
The training vehicle is regularly serviced and maintained to ensure reliability during lessons. It is air conditioned and fitted with He-Man dual controls. A dash cam is fitted with front and rear cameras. The car is replaced on a regular basis to a newer model to ensure the customer can learn in a modern, comfortable and reliable car.
